Jackfruit 'Pulled Pork' Tacos with Homemade Tortillas

In this episode we are joined by my friend Gabrielle who runs the Vancouver Farmer Markets. Gabby is going to show us how to make tortillas from scratch and how, through the combination of some spices, you can make tacos with Jackfruit that is really worth all the prep. Try it for yourself! Check out Gabrielle's channel: /channel/UCquaC-s9w32kES-I8XJnH1Q Subscribe for more tasty recipes! /marlondoll Tortilla Recipe: 3/4 Cup Water 1 Cup Corn Flour 1 Cup Regular Flour Pinch of Salt 2 TBSPs Oil - Form dough into a ball by hand. Add water if needed. Set aside for 30 minutes to rest. - Form dough further into smaller balls around 2 inches. Use roller to roll out dough into tortilla. Use a plate or lid (or freehand!) cut excess dough to form a circle. - Set pan to med-high and brown each tortilla side until bubbles form. Oil is optional for this step. Jackfruit Filling Recipe: 2-3 Avocados 1 Can of Jackfruit (In brine not syrup) 1 Whole Yellow Onion (sliced) 1/2 Red Onion (full slices) 3 Cloves of Garlic 1/2 Cup Rice Wine Vinegar 2 TBSPs Chili Powder 1 TBSPs Garlic Powder 2 TBSPs Paprika 1/3 Cup BBQ Sauce (Sweet Baby Rays) "to taste" Salt Limes, thyme, and your other favorite toppings! - Prepare Veggies: Slice the yellow onion, mince 3 cloves of garlic, slice full rings of 1/2 red onion. - Pickled Onion: Place the red onion slices in a bowl and cover in rice wine vinegar or vinegar of choice. Allow to sit and soak up vinegar as you prepare. - Empty brine from can and tear apart jackfruit into small pieces - Set large frying pan or wok to med-high, add 2-3 TBSPs of cooking oil - Start frying by adding yellow onions, add a pinch of salt and brown onions without caramelizing. Next add garlic and fry for 1-2 minutes. Then add chili powder, garlic powder, and paprika. Mix well and let fry for a minute. Add Jackfruit. Mix well and add in BBQ sauce - Cook for 10-15 minutes to let the BBQ sauce caramelize - Set the jackfruit filling on the tortillas, top with avocado/pickled red onions/lime juice, add your other favorite toppings and enjoy!
