Major floods after Storm Ciaran in Potter Heigham, Sale of Pleasure Boat Inn & Boats #news #pub #uk Hi everyone welcome back to my channel, In the news today, it is talking about how storm Ciaran is still impacting Potter Heigham. I have lived here, many years, and every year there is flooding , but I’ve never seen it cover such a vast area as it is doing so this year. On Monday, the floodwaters had still not gone down. Volunteers were pumping water from Herbert Woods Boatyard into the drains at Latham’s car park. The flood barriers are across the entrance into the boat yard. Also, in the news this week is the sale of the iconic Pleasure Boat Inn, Hickling John Uff has sold it to the Norfolk Wildlife trust. I never knew until this week that the trust also owns Hickling Broads sailing club and the whispering Reeds boat yard. The pub dates back to the 1700s . In the past I have made a video about how King Charles III stayed here at the Pleasure Boat Inn , as a young boy in 1959. I will leave the link to this video at the end of this one. The Royal Party planned to stay at Whiteslea Lodge, but due to flooding they had to stay at the Pleasure Boat Inn instead . In this video, I also visit Ranworth, Staithe & Church. The boardwalk was closed, so I drive to Brundall Church fen boardwalk instead. It was open , flooded in one place but there were boats passing on the river. I even spot a boat that I could see myself having on day on the Norfolk Broads.
