Brother Voodoo, Black Panther, and Gambit (History of Doctor Voodoo Part 6)

Today we're going to go over some more Brother Voodoo history, closing out this part of his story with a number of books featuring Black Panther and Gambit. First up is a brief aside featuring content from Spider-Man: Unlimited #20, detailing what is known of Jericho Drumm's niece, Collette Drumm. Then, we get into Black Panther vol. 3 #17-22. Written by Cristopher Priest, with art by Sal Velluto, Robert Almond, Brad Vancata, Kyle Hotz, Eric Powell, Steve Oliff, and lettering by Paul Tutrone. Here, Brother Voodoo senses something wrong in the heart of Wakanda, as Erik Killmonger has been resurrected, upsetting the balance between life and death. After first getting Black Panther and briefly meeting up with Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and the Falcon, Jericho sets out to Wakanda with its king to investigate. Doing so will put Jericho in dire danger, with them going up against a fearsome and powerful villain known as Nightmare. Reuniting with Moon Knight, and with Killmonger's own schemes at play, Brother Voodoo must keep his wits about him in this deadly game of kings and nightmares. Then, we cover Gambit vol. 4 #3, by John Layman, Georges Jeanty, Don Hillsman, Tom Chu, Randy Gentile, and Mike Marts. Here, Brother Voodoo returns to New Orleans by the invitation of a powerful occultist named Morgan Penrose. Unveiling a deadly artefact called the Inficio Aquilus, Morgan's daring plant to look upon the most powerful Tarot Deck in existence is spoiled by the arrival of the mutant known as Gambit. Finally, Brother Voodoo encounters Gambit properly later in the series for issues #8 and #9, with Cory Petit replacing Gentile on lettering. Here, Jericho finds Gambit in the middle of a full-scale mystical zombie attack on the entire city, all due to a member of New Orleans PD ruthlessly slaying a young mutant.
