Why Violet?
Well, it was previously established that cyans, majestas and yellows would make all the colors you can possibly see and was a standard for hundreds of years. It's the reason why many flags have never included violet in their flags because there was no dyes available for violet (or a cost effective way) to include them.
Those 3 prime colors do not create violets like my account color, maybe some purples but it's still a wide range and could be a great filter to add on to the basic light colors which are reds, greens, and blues.
I mean, we all want very advanced TVs now don't we?
All of these can be thrown in the algorithm to increase picture quality and performance.

I'm obviously not saying the bargain 100$ price on Walmart cheap and often defective TVs, but something that puts it appealing to a mass market that wants the quality of Sony TVs without necessarily the new tech of the current year.
Granted, this year lineups is the most revolutionary of pretty much any given year in terms of leaps and bounds of improvement.
Sony should also bring back their slim backlit drives TVs and not just full arrays.

But unfortunately my 14 year old 47 inch TV is starting to play up?
I would love a 85 inch TV what would you suggest? LCD or OLED?
I also have two boys that play games? Xbox and Sony.
