THE SOUND OF MUSIC International Cast Performs ‘Do-Re-Mi’

The North American touring production of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s “The Sound of Music,” directed by Tony winner Jack O’Brien, has reached Manila, Philippines, and plays at the Samsung Performing Arts Theatre at Ayala Malls’ Circuit Makati until March 26, 2023. Before its recent gala premiere in Manila, the production presented excerpts from the show, including one of its most popular musical numbers, “Do-Re-Mi,” where first-time governess Maria (Jill-Christine Wiley) warms up with her, at first, indifferent wards, the von Trapp children, aged five to 16. In this excerpt, the children are played by the following: Lauren O’Brien (Liesl), Daniel Karash (Friedrich), Audrey Simon Winters (Louisa), Desmond Elyseev (Kurt), Lydia de Jesus (Brigita), Olivia O’Sullivan (Marta), and Olive Ross-Kline (Gretl).
