Tribute to Tajikistani Women Leaders

One of our master artisans, Munira Akilova of Tajikistan, produced this short video as a tribute to Tajikistani women leaders of the past and the present. Created as part of a business women's mentorship project in Tajikistan, current women business leaders dressed in traditional Tajik costumes to honor their culture and their traditional ways of life. The video was originally released on March 8, 2021, International Women's Day. The beginning of the video shows the photos of numerous Tajikistani women leaders from the past, from all walks of life. The speaker is reciting a poem in Tajik that is a tribute to women. The entire video is set to traditional Tajik folk music. We hope you enjoy this experience of the sights and sounds of Tajikistan. Munira graciously allowed us to share this video on HoonArts' platforms, to give a wider audience to this lovely introduction to traditional Tajik culture.
