It was one of River Phoenix's (older brother of Joaquin) last films before he passed away way too early. It also stars Lili Taylor who is one of the most brilliant actresses in Hollywood in my opinion. It was directed by a woman which is cool since back then there were not many feature films directed by women at all. It's a drama and the story develops slowly and poignantly which means it isn't for those who just want action or crazy comedy. It's a very simple but very moving story and one of my favorites!
