It transfers the colorspace and gamma, keeping the same exact original contrast / artistic intent to the new gamma space with a custom peak brightness (set by the HDR Converter's Mode) by following the proper EOTF in PQ. Gamut is regenerated by also maintaining the original color/tone with the d65 whitepoint in a wider spectrum. Processing is in 16-bit, where the HDR mapping is then applied to the final stream along with the Dolby Vision dynamic metadata generation. This demonstration has been first encoded in ProRes 4444XQ using our Converter SDR to ProRes HDR STUDIO 16-bit High Precision 1:1 Digital Intermediate Encoding to map the HDR in a 444 profile. (Maximum quality in HDR mapping and high bit depth generation color processing) The output ProRes HDR video is then loaded to the HDR Digital Intermediate to HEVC Deliverable Converter's Mode. Here, the output is a consumer device compliant HEVC in 10-bits PQ BT. 2020 HDR10 Dolby Vision.
