Road Cycling Cannondale: Heat wave riding. Knowing when to head for home.

Fondo attempt that I cut short at 70km due to heat. Not the hottest day but I was hitting the water hard all through the ride and made the wise choice to do only 70km and return home while I still felt good. Having only 2 gel packs was certainly a game changer. Gu lemon sublime packs are what got me through the 70km in good form.
