The title of her three projects, and the subject matter within, are rooted in how she perceives herself. 2018’s ‘Selfless’ debut EP chewed on the pros and cons of giving up her identity in relationships. She chose to name her first full-length ‘KIKI,” a nickname. With her latest project, ‘Grudges,’ the “EX” singer questions the spiritual, mental, and emotional cost of holding onto resentment. This sophomore album, which arrived in June, was originally supposed to be called ‘Closure.’ Ultimately, Lede found that misleading. “Centering the whole album around all the sh-t that I was trying to shed is just way more authentic,” she wisely explained. “LMK” begs for that kind of honesty from a partner, and you can tell she really means it in this performance.
