Imagine yourself transported to a place where peace and happiness are the norm. Everywhere you look, animals who were once too terrified to move or too weak to stand are romping in pastures with their friends and family, free to spend the rest of their lives on their own terms. You can visit that special place — Farm Sanctuary — right here, right now thanks to our latest endeavor — a virtual reality experience produced by Condition One VR. Guided by National Shelter Director Susie Coston, this immersive, 3D experience is your ticket to Farm Sanctuary life from the comfort of your own phone or desktop. Catch a kiss from a steer, delight while baby goats leap overhead, sidle up to a turkey, and dare to ignore a sheep approaching for a pet. If you’re viewing from a desktop, you can explore the sights and sounds of Farm Sanctuary life right now by clicking this link to the video. When the page opens in YouTube, you can use the “pan” button in the upper left corner, allowing you to “turn around” and explore at your own pace. It’s even more immersive if you are on your phone! If you are on an Android device… Simply click the link here and when YouTube opens, press play. Once in the video experience, you control what you see as though you were visiting the farm in person. Turn your device and the tour will respond to your movement as you look up and spin, giving you a 360° perspective as you interact with Susie and the animals who call Farm Sanctuary home. As you look up, you see what’s above you. When you spin around, you see what’s behind you. If you are on an iPhone or iPad… You will need to first download the YouTube app if you have not already. The experience is best viewed in the YouTube app rather than from the browser-based version of YouTube. Then, click the link here to enter the VR experience. Just as with the Android devices, you control what you see in that the video moves along with your phone’s movements and the direction you are standing. Note: The experience is also available on Samsung Gear VR devices via the Condition One app in the Oculus Store. We’re so excited to share this new opportunity as we create a more compassionate world for all — for both farm animals and the people who love them. Thanks to you and your support, our rescued residents can enjoy Independence Day every day!
