GOOLAB JAMBOO
2 tablespoons tasty wheat
2 tablespoons ghee
1 egg
385g condensed milk
Pinch of salt
½ teaspoon cardamon powder
¼ teaspoon cream of tartar
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 ¾ cups + ⅛ cup self raising flour (just under 2 cups)
METHOD
Beat tasty wheat and ghee until light and creamy. Add egg and beat well. Add condensed milk and mix in. Add the rest of the ingredients and beat until combined. The dough must be sticky. Rub oil onto your hands, shape dough into long fingers and fry on medium heat until golden brown.
SYRUP
2 ½ cups sugar
2 cups water
METHOD
Add sugar and water to a saucepan, once sugar is dissolved, boil for 8 minutes. Dip jamboos in hot syrup.
