One of the most frequently asked questions I get is "How do you get the best consistency/temperature using hard wax?" The main thing people forget to do is STIR the wax! You cannot turn your wax warmer on and then think the wax will automatically be ready for use after a certain period of time. Using my Goliath XL industrial wax warmer, I will first pre-heat the wax around 80 degrees Celcius. Then I start stirring the outer edge of the wax so the hot wax on the edge is pushed onto the center block of wax. I start to stir and work the center block trying to get it to break down. Then I will add wax beads to the outer edge so it starts to cool the hot wax down. Once the beads are mixed in I'll cover my wax warmer again for an additional 5 minutes to allow the rest of the wax to get to the correct consistency. After 5 minutes or so has passed, I'll remove the lid to the warmer and continue to stir the wax until it moves like honey or molasses. Keep in mind, you will need to stir every couple of minutes throughout your entire day. About every 2 times I pull wax from the warmer, I will stir the wax. You will also need to adjust the temperature slightly depending on the services you are doing. I tend to like the wax to be slightly warmer if doing services with fine hair and slightly cooler for services with coarse hair. I never recommend leaving your wax warmer on unattended because it's a fire hazard.
