Ingredients : For sambar masala: 1 tbsp whole coriender seeds 1 tbsp whole cumin seeds 1 tbsp curry leaves 2 tbsp fresh coconut pieces 3-4 dry red chilles 1 cup toor dal Half cup bottle guard pieces (lauki) Half cup tomatoes chopped Half cup onion finely chopped Half cup potatoes chopped into cubes 2 sticks drum sticks (sambar sticks) 1 tsp mustard seed ¼ tsp fenugreek seeds (methi dana) 2 tbsp tamrind paste Curry leaves 1½ tbsp jaggery 1 tsp turmeric powder 1 tsp red chilli powder 1 tsp chilli ginger garlic paste Salt to taste 1 pinch hing.
