James Moody born in Savannah, Georgia (1925-2010) was fascinated by the saxophone after he heard the instrument in a band called ‘Count Basie’. Later on, Moody joined the US Army and played in the “negro band’’ on the segregated base. James Moody also took up the flute and only sang occasional.
